Pan American Ultimate Championships

The WFDF 2019 Pan American Ultimate Championships (PAUC) will be held in Sarasota, Florida, USA from 3-8 November. Fresh off of helping to host the World Ultimate Club Championships in 2018, we (Oshadega LLC) along with the Sarasota County Sports Commission are excited to put on a great event for the Pan American Ultimate Community.

Ultimate in the Americas has seen tremendous growth since the first Pan American Ultimate Championships contested in Medellin, Colombia in 2011. Since that time, the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) has sanctioned a regional championship biannually with Brazil (2013), Mexico (2015), and most recently Cañuelas, Argentina hosting in 2017. We are excited to build upon those foundations and provide an opportunity for Ultimate players to build relationships for continued growth.

We expect over 1500 athletes on 80 teams from over 13 countries competing within multiple divisions for the PAUC 2019. The tournament will take place at the historic Sarasota Polo Club home to the USA Ultimate Club Championships from 2000 to 2012. These world-class fields, once described like walking on clouds, have gone under extensive renovations under new ownership and will provide a wonderful setting for our tournament. There are over 40 full-sized Ultimate fields on site which we will surely utilize.

Following feedback from past PAUC's that teams would like more free time, we are implementing a new model for this week-long event. Based on pool, and division size, our aim is to have most days of the event be limited to just 2 rounds. Teams can expect to play 2 games each day. The first round will start at 9am followed by an hour break before the second game starting around noon. After the 2nd game, we encourage teams to stay around the field site for food, fun, and community before heading out on their own to enjoy all the attractions of Sarasota and the white sand beaches on the warm Gulf of Mexico. You’ll have plenty of time to compete on the field with great opportunities to make life-long friendships off of it.

We hope you’ll be able to join us this November for a true Celebration of Ultimate.
